📜 NOTES AND BACKSTORY 📜
This song is much more than an ethnic song featuring sounds from North Macedonia.
This is a cosmic, cosmic connection, and I feel the primordial energies present at the time of creation flowing in my song. It has a perfect blend of ecstatic vision, psychedelia, ethno-organic sound, big groove, power, depth, soul, beauty, great key changes, chords, modality, and progression. Still this doesn't really do justice to this song that I have created.
First, the label, Cafe De Anatolia, based in North Macedonia, is a perfect fit from all aspects, in that I know them like family, how they cultivate this particular style and sound brilliantly, and has supported all of the artists on this album so incredibly well over the years.
I am surrounded by many of my most beloved artists on this album. These are artists whom I've long admired and been inspired by, and whom I respect as brothers, sister, and friends.
The live recording in the original features my dear friends from North Macedonia and Croatia/Germany: SoulPacifica (vocals, violin), eXtreme4 (vocals), Ivica Postolovski (kaval), and Darko Angelov (vocals).
This EP includes powerful remixes provided by legendary masters of the ethno-organic scene, who are perfectly suited to express a fresh new vision of the original. I have Tebra, Stanisha, and Veytik creating spectacular, diverse sounds and moods here.
This is a dream EP for me. The family/team synergy and relationships between the artists here is deep and genuine. We experience my most powerful vision of love in one of my strongest ethnic styles, supported by master instrumentalists and vocalist of this style of music, combined with remixers incredibly adept at this style!
This is a song about a shepherd who leaves his family in the summer to herd sheep in the mountains every year, and every year, he and his family relive the experience the sorrow of missing each other and also the great joy of reuniting at the season of harvest in their village. The man however also experiences God closely in the mountains, and he and his wife grow in faith through the experience. So, this is truly a song of love and the sacred bond between man and wife, man and the land, man and his people, man and God. It is called "Svetite Planini", which means "Holy Mountains" in North Macedonian. We all must experience the sacred in some way in our lives. I hope that this song helps you do just that!
