🎶🌌🐪🔥🌿🔥🌲🐪🌌🎶
Release by Shango Records.
Available on Beatport , Spotify, and all other platforms.
My friend, SoulPacifica, from Croatia,
provided vocals and violin on my originals.
My friends Bliz Nochi, from Moldova (based in Germany)
and Ali Termos from Lebanon (based in Saudi Arabia),
remixed one track each.
Inspired by the stories of Genesis, of Moses and the Burning Bush, and by the majestic Cedars of Lebanon, my EP, "The Tree Of Life", helps us find our common ancestral roots, through a powerful, powerful musical journey of the soul. Both the originals and remixes are undeniably otherworldly and yet very, very earthy, flavored with Middle Eastern sounds and well-crafted, unique hypnotic, dancefloor-ready remixes.
🗿 SHANGO LABEL STORY: Born in the dark streets of Cairo, grown to the unforgettable forests of Santa Esmeralda, spending its teen years in Bombay and Tangier markets, mature into the deep spacey Jungle of Ghana we proudly present you a new label from the land of the pyramids: SHANGO RECORDS invites you to an unheard world music psychedelic trip: like through a colorful kaleidoscope we will melt down Indian and Pakistani Vibes, Arab-Tek and Oriental groovy vibes, Afro-Beat rhythms n' pieces, Cumbia Tropicana flavors and cosmic Ghetto-Latin vibes into forbidden sounds of frenzied electronic dancefloor rituals. Outside traditional paths these driving grooves and polyphonic structures take the adventure seeking dancer to Dionysian highs and places never been before.
📜 SHANGO RELEASE STORY: After everything had quietly sifted through my head a great peace came over me. Here, where the river gently winds through the girdle of hills, lies a soil so saturated with the past that however far back the mind roams one can never detach it from its human background. So quietly flow the Seine that one hardly notices its presence. It is always there, quiet and unobtrusive, like a great artery running through the human body. In the wonderful peace that fell over me itseemed as if I had climbed to the top of a high mountain; for a little while I would be able to look around me, to take in the meaning of the landscape. Human beings make a strange fauna and flora. From a distance they appear negligible; close up they are apt to appear ugly and malicious. More than anything they need to be surrounded with sufficient space – space even more than time. The sun is setting. I feel this river flowing through meets past, its ancient soil, the changing climate. The hills gently girdle it about: its course is fixed. Desert Raven brings the Tree Of Life to people. These two tracks can give a warm beauty inside your cold heart.
Track 1: "Seneh (Original Mix)" - Seneh means "Burning Bush/Sinai" in Hebrew and retells the story of Moses and the Burning Bush. A powerful spiritual journey of the soul, bringing one through trials, suffering, and into an ecstatic union with the higher power, divine essence of the universe that we all recognize. Powerful slow groove. Very otherworldly and beautiful. Very trippy. Super oud harmony/rhythm, trippy saz. Violin and vocals are ethereal. Ney adding super touch to the spiritual breath of God. Synth sound from the Moog is mesmerizing solo.
Track 2: "Araz Lubnan (Original Mix)" - Araz Lubnan means "Cedar of Lebanon" in Arabic and brings to the heart the majestic cedars, called the Cedars of God, from the Bible, which David and Solomon used to build their kingdoms, and which have a deeply sacred, ancient place in the heart of Lebanese people, especially from the forests in the mountains of Lebanon. Oud comes alive here, retaining Lebanese roots but also achieving a sense of the otherworldly, just like Seneh, in its own particular way. Saz also in support. Synths are again alive.
Track 3: "Seneh (Bliz Nochi Remix)" - a strong, organic, techno flavored track that keeps all of the spiritual power but gains its own new life and journey. Lots of fire. More uptempo, trippy, hot, all Bliz Nochi revision here, yet still faithful to the spirit of my original, with creative remixing of Tihana's vocals.
Track 4: "Araz Lubnan (Ali Termos Remix)" - Ali remained true to the vision of my original and spiced it up. He extracted the groove essence of the original, brought forward the bass synth, the vocals, and kicked up the tempo, with a strong kick drum. He brough forth the spirit of the dance, with his homeland's ethnic sensibilities from Lebanon. I would not have another friend do this remix. Very much for the dance floor. Clubs, weddings, parties...all good for them all!
